Well it happend to these 43 people in the past 2 months worth of reviews
alone. Isn't 43 half the installed OSX user base? LOL, one guy almost burned
down his house.....

My iBook is less than 4 months old and the power adapter just died today...I
looked closer and the cable was frayed at the head, just like the other 400
or so people who are writing reviews. Luckily the Apple Store replaced it,
and after reading the ... Read more >reviews around here I'm certainly going
to be purchasing AppleCare...it looks like it'll pay for itself within the
year in power bricks alone. =P

They always stop working! These overpriced peices of garbage make life
miserable. You have no choice but to buy one unless you can find a decent
alternative. I bought a third party adapter that was probably even worse and
only 10 or $20 less. Why... Read more > is power technology so expensive?

Still defective after 800 negative reviews?Durability is non-existent. Fire
hazard is extreme. After receiving electrical shocks from frayed wires and
an obvious defect in design, is it time to hold Apple liable?

MY POWERBOOK IS LESS THAN 2 YRS OLD AND MY SECOND POWER ADAPTER CORD HAS
CRAPPED OUT. I UNDERSTAND PLANNED OBSOLECENCE BUT THIS IS RIDICULOUS. AND ON
TOP OF THAT IT'S $79 FOR A NEW ONE. ARE YOU PEOPLE IN THE BUSINESS OF MAKING
COMPUTERS OR OF SELLING... Read more > A GAZILLION REPLACEMENT ADAPTERS.
FROM WHAT I CAN SEE OF THE REST OF THE REVIEWS I AM NOT ALONE.IN THAT HUGE
CONGLOMERATE OF YOURS YOU CAN'T FIND ONE ENGINEER THAT CAN DESIGN A CORD
THAT LASTS MORE THAN SIX MONTHS. WOULDN'T BUY ANOTHER APPLE PRODUCT IF THIS
IS THE BEST YOU CAN DO.

i bought my powerbook G4 8 months ago and have treated it and the power
adapter very gently, but the adapter has already stopped working. i didn't
have any of the sparks or apparent wear and tear that other people have
reported, the ridiculous thing...
