Are you using WEP? If so, then giving the neighbor the passphrase used
in your WEP setup won't work. She needs to enter the actual WEP KEY and
128Bit encoding must be used.

Example: My WEP passphrase is "tron" but if I use that on my PowerBook,
it won't connect. I have to use the Key that the passphrase generates
which looks something like ABC72CF11902D2997F6B24GB12. That's the number
that goes in the PowerBook's Airport setup for WEP protected networks.
Don't know about DLink, but Linksys automatically generates the key when
the passphrase is entered in the WEP set-up in the Router config which
is accessed by a local URL such as http://192.168.1.1. Your system may
work differently.
