Connecting a G4 powerbook to a DLink router

My next door neighbour was trying to connect her G4 powerbook to my
wireless router. I gave her the password and it connected but a message
came up about not being able to fine a PPoE server or something along
that line.
I'm not a Mac person so I don't know what the problem is but I am using
cable high speed and don't deal with PPoE.
Is their a setting somewhere that has to be turned off or on or what
does she have to do?
