Counting both server and consumer operating systems, which are basically
variants of the same thing, is a little silly. So, our list becomes:
Windows 95
Windows 98
Windows ME
Windows 2000
Windows XP
That's five operating systems in 6 years (1995-2001), which is a very
respectable release schedule.
But in the 6 years post-XP, Microsoft will ship ONE operating system,
not five.
They've screwed this up. Badly.
