Hmmm. As I use Windows and OS X day in and day out, I've been keeping a list of
things that annoy me all the time in Windows. I don't really have such a list on
OS X.
There are a few times when the setup to wireless access points isn't as clear as
it could be, but that's difficult to pin down. If I went to the trouble of
writing down exactly what it is I'm trying to do, what happens, and what I
expect, then I"ll learn what the designers were thinking, and that would be the
end of my problems with it.

Hm. I could put some applications in a folder and stick that in the Dock.
Instant collection of applications.
But the way Windows ends up implementing collections of applications is
sometimes by publisher and most often a menu many items deep at the end of which
are the application, some documentation, and an application for getting rid of
the application. Finding an app is usually a long serial search because Windows
keeps changing the order of things in the Start menu.

QuickTime is most definitely not junk. It was initially created to run on 68040
CPUs with the strict rules that audio and video must remain synchronized at all
times and that frames must be presented in correct time. QuickTime has since
grown to encompass many codecs and other forms of video, such as QuickTime VR.
Are you thinking of the QuickTime Player? That's a separate application with its
own limitations. There are plenty of alternative QuickTime players.

That's useful for someone coming from Windows, but I'd have no need for it.
