For the past few months, the signal to noise ratio has dropped from bad
to absolutely abysmal. Idiots like zara, Homey, and a few others have
absolutely flooded this group with one worthless posts after another (I
challenge anyone to find even a single intelligent post from them).

Even the old time trolls like Edwin, Tom Lame, and Liar of R'lyeh have
gotten pretty worthless. Nothing but outright lies and stupid posts.
Liar of R'lyeh, in particular, seems to think that his lies will become
true simply because he repeats them often enough. It's been months since
any of them added anything of value.

Then there are the idiots like BB and travis who think that since they
don't have any intelligent arguments, they should drag personal
information into this group - even after being asked not to.

Once upon a time, there were plenty of trolls, but there were also
legitimate arguments occurring in this group. For example, CMT vs PMT.
Lately, rational arguments against the Mac are almost nonexistent. The
only one left to the Windiots is 'Macs cost more' which isn't
universally true, nor is it particularly relevant - since even a high
end Mac costs less than an entry level PC cost 10 years ago and since
Macs are now available in almost all price ranges (except for the very
cheap $299 specials).

The remaining arguments get even weaker starting in the first half of
next year as Apple switches to Intel hardware - effectively making it
Mac OS X vs Windows - and no one in their right mind thinks Windows is
even close to OS X - even the famous Mac-bashing Windows journalists
agree that Windows is behind (see Thurrot's article, for example).

The group is dead. I have better things to do.

Unlike Edwin, I won't say that I'll never be back, but until the S/N
ratio improves, it's just not worth the time any more.

Merry Christmas to all.

Ah, poor baby, can't play in "your" playground anymore, cause the
"forreners" look and play differently than you. Go home and pout for
awhile. We'll be here waiting for ya if you ever decide to come back.

.... and come back he will - probably under another nym. The troll just can't resist the place. CSMA is like a toothache to him - it aches, but he just can't leave it alone.
