I've decided to postpone the install of Tiger as 10.3.9 is fine for "leaning my way around" for now.

I added the 120gig HD. It went in, I rebooted and was good to go!

I did a CCC of the small (20gig) drive over to the the new one and 'everything' from the first drive ended up there...I've also installed several apps to the new drive and I'm 'residing' there.

However?
When I did the CCC I checked to make the new drive bootable. So? How does one 'boot' to that drive? (Window's would give me the additional OS on a menu at start?)

Even though I appear to be in tha OS (all apps install and run from that drive) I realize it's deceptive.

I can only see the 'original' user (just the small drive) on my network?

As it appears the new drive (& OS) are functioning on their own...can I also boot to that drive and have it be seen on the LAN (a WORKGROUP, simple router...no 'Domain' on the server)...

Or is there another way short of booting to the OS on the new drive (I doubt it?) that will allow the second drive to be seen on the LAN.

Also, from the Mac? I'm only able to 'mount' a volume (one at a time and I have to repeat upon reboot) from the other machines - - In Win machines on the LAN I can see the entire Mac as well as all the other MS machines and I don't have to mount anything...They're static, fixed on my Network?

I can live with the latter...I'd like to either boot to the new drive (I thought that CCC, making it bootable and using the OS there indicated all was well) and at least be able to 'see' the second drive on the Network.

But, how?

Thanks

Michael

PItch that CCC, it is a PITA imo.

Take a look at SuperDuper! (versiontracker.com). It is free if you want to use it as is, but you can send them a twenty dollar bill and it opens up some more scripting. Slick, simple and it works.

Except I already moved the contents of the small drive over to the new drive and install a buttload of apps? I don't "need" to clone....now...

It's not only all there...I have spend days intalling new apps to the new drive - - -

It all works fine, it can't be seen on the LAN (just the original drive is on the network) and I figure I have to boot to it - - and be done with it?

It seems that since I'm doing "everything" on the new drive...I'd rather not wipe it out and start from scratch with SuperDuper?

I'll check it out? I was hoping there as a non-strart over again option.

Thanks
