Interestingly, I *just* heard on FOX news today that Venezuelan leader Chavez is offering to help with aid to the gulf states hit by Katrina. I didn't hear what kind of aid specifically, but I do find it rather interesting in light of the recent media coverage of the White House's contempt for him, as well as Pat Robertson's recent 'assasinate Chavez' blathering.

Of course, this could just be Chavez doing a one-upsmanship thing for his own ends, but at least he did offer the aid, at a time when *NO ONE* else has.
