Where should I start?

>>From the Microsoft web site:
------
How do Select, Enterprise, Campus and School Agreement customers obtain
a VLK?

Existing Select, Enterprise, Campus and School Agreement customers may
obtain their VLKs by contacting the Microsoft Activation Center for
their country or region. The phone number for the Activation Center was
provided to each Select License customer in a letter from Microsoft.
Customers must provide their enrollment agreement number to the
customer service representative to obtain their VLK.
------

If you have not contacted MS for a VLK (which it would seems you
haven't since you're not aware of the limitations and how one goes
about getting a VLK---hint: Yout can't buy it at a store), then you
have a bootleg copy of WinXP. If you paid for it (and as you
suggested, paid more for it than XP Pro), then you're also retarded,
because if anything else, you should have paid less for it.
