There are a couple of other things you could try. For some games, the
program Virtual Drive works. It makes a "virtual CD", much like a disk
image, then mounts that just like a real CD. But it works for, I'd
guess, no more than half of the games I've tried it on. I also often
make duplicate CD's to use, so I can keep the original in my files.
Sometimes making the dupes on the "other" platform helps. For example,
when I copy my UT2004 Mac disk on the Mac, the copy doesn't work. When
I use a bit copy program on the PC, the resulting disk works fine on the
Mac.
