So you want a tower case PC:
Apple: $2000 for an entry level dual G5, PC no scroll one button mouse
AMD: $600 for an AMD athlon 64 3200, 2 button + scroll
Add: Free antivirus and spyware protection and security = OS X
So, for approx 400% more $ what are you getting?
- No cpu upgrade options - Locked into proprietory H/W (PS, MB) - Locked into OS X, no Linux, Vista - Limited applications - A deadend cpu platform
Sadly, Mac zealots continue to persist...
An Athlon 64 complete system for $600? Cite please, that's a little hard to believe.
Note that you're comparing a dual CPU to a single CPU, not quite a good comparison.
True. However, if the board in question is of the 939socket variety, then at a later time, you can upgrade to an AMD 64 dual core. This is in contrast to Intel, where the dual core is not compatible with any of the previous single cores (probably because the current P4 Dual is just a cobbled up dual core, while the AMD64 was designed with multi-cores in mind)
This puts his system at well over $600. .
