My EEEpc 1000he has a 1.6 Ghz Intel Atom 280 processor (a dual core
CPU). It has a battery life of 9.5 hours, I get a little less in the
real world.
It has a 10 inch screen and weighs 3 Lbs, great for travel. Cost is
about $380 many places.

I am very happy with mine. I replaced the built in Hard Drive (160
Gbyte) with a 500 Gbyte for $99. The Atom 280 is about the lowest
current drain low cost processor Intel makes.
I'd recommend this machine to anyone. I am retired IBM and can buy IBM
or Leveno products at employee discount. This beats any deal I can get.
