I am helping a friend with a 6 year old Latitude notebook.
If I use the button to go into standby and come out of standby -
everything works fine.
If I use the button to go into standby, close the lid and then open
the lid to resume use - everything works fine.
However
If I just close the lid to go into standby and then open the lid up,
it looks like the laptop is OUT of standby (lid leds, hard drive
noise),
however the display is off.
I then have to shut off the machine or remove the battery and restart
I thought it could be the sensor in the lid, however if I set Windows
XP to do nothing when the lid is open and shut, the display turns on
and off normally when I open and close the lid.
Any clues to where the problem may be?
Thanks
Sounds like driver issues to me. Go into Display Properties and Settings
(Tab), Advanced (button), Troubleshoot (Tab), and adjust Hardware
acceleration down to none and give that a shot.
