On the Dell site, there is a driver called "570x Gigabit Integrated
Controller", does that sound like what you mean? If so, yes, I did install
that one. Didn't help. :(
The computer seems to be of the opinion that it has a functioning
network connection, but I can't access anything on the web. Also, a guy
in tech support at my ISP was unable to see my computer, although he did
successfully ping my DSL modem.
If this computer has a Broadcom gigabit NIC, then why don't I see it in
the device manager? Could it be listed elsewhere?
I'm also going to be looking at any firewall/virus protection sw that
might be blocking me - maybe the problem has nothing to do with ethernet
