I sad i HAD this problem and i fix it.
The problem started with the screen going off every now and then
then off totally.
I opened the screen and find out that the inverter had a thyristor burn
if you know how it works an inverter electronically speaking you know that there are generally 2 thyristors that oscillate the power to bring it wave form,while i was changing the tristore i mistake the model of the thyristor and the screen gone white because a wrong thyristor.
If a wrong thyristor can bring the screen white then it can be as well a burn one.
keep in mind that when i say White i was actually testing plug and unplug the monitor to the computer so i can assure you it was not problem of the graphic card
by the way it was a 15" monitor bought in the early 2000 and after this fix in the 2005 is still working .
I'm here just to give an advice how I did solve the problem
