disk read error


i have an IBM a22m and i formatted by hard disk as an enclosure and then
tried to do a fresh install of XP. but now when i try to install XP from
my CD, i keep getting this error

A disk read error occurred
Press Ctrl+Alt+Del to restart

I have tried reformating with NTFS, chaging boot settings but nothing
seems to help.

Any advice will be greatly appreciated.
