I recently purchased a Sony Laptop on an online website. It is
supposed to be factory new when it comes in. Unfortunately, a little
later I saw a couple of reviews saying that they were sent a
refurbished laptop instead of a brand new laptop. Is there any
concrete way of knowing whether the Sony SZ Laptop is refurbished? Is there anything on the computer that says this? Thanks.
I would guess one way will be to try to register the warranty. If that
S/N has been registered, then you are not going to be able to do it
again.
Well I don't know about Sony refurbished laptops. But generally speaking, if they are factory refurbished... they are given a new serial number and has a label stating it is refurbished. And factory refurbished warrantees are generally 30, 60 or 90 days.
I actually prefer refurbished laptops over factory new for the following reasons.
1) They are much cheaper.
2) They have had someone check them to see if they actually work.
3) Known problems for a given model usually has been fixed and repaired.
