Wow! I must be living in a parallel universe here! I just checked my Toshibas (some dating back to '99), Gateways, LCD external monitors, etc. And they all say an input voltage of 100V to 240V.
You are correct, except for what Barry writ about the plug converter. The US two prong polarized plug is used only in North America. A plug converter or a regionalized power cable to the transformer box is still a necessity.
