I was going to complain to Dell about how much I hate

thought I'd get opinions from those who have them on
their laptops.
For those who have used systems with a track stick:
1. Like the track stick
2. Don't mind that track stick is there.
3. Track stick gets in the way and wish it wasn't there.
My IBM R50 provides both track stick and touchpad, and _I_ have
disabled the touchpad - it might be that I'm used to it coming from an
old Compaq LTE-laptop, but I'm extremely more comfortable with it in
comparison to using the touchpad - the statistical base is very
limited, but most people _I_ know who have the choice prefer the stick
over the pad and personal observation of people used to the stick vs.
people used to the pad is that the stick has an advantage in respect
of speed, while the pad is better suited for activities that require
to position the mouse cursor very precisely (i.e. on certain specific
pixels) - so maybe the personal preference might to a degree depend on
what you do with the laptop...
Additional remark: even though I'm used to the stick, it occasionally
gets "in the way" when trying to hit the "g", "h", "b"-keys, but that
might be because I'm a 4-6 finger typist and far from being able to
blind type using all 10 fingers...
