The Dell Home machines are not as good as the Dell business machines. The machines from the business side usually have a 3 year warranty. All the manufacturers seem to offer multiple quality levels at different price points.

At least with the 3 year warranty you know you're good for three years!

Costco now offers a 2 year warranty on laptops they sell at no extra charge.
