He is running into the infamous windows system file protection. Movie
Maker is part of the base O/S install and, as such, does not allow
itself to be EASILY removed. As I noted to him there are third party
programs that will overcome this "feature".
Right, I see now. I misunderstood the OP. I had assumed he was trying to
delete the files produced by moviemaker, not the actual moviemaker itself.
In that case I shall modify my advice by completely withdrawing it.
