I been looking at 17" notebooks and like the HP dv9500t and the Dell 1720. I read a user review post complaint about the HP BIOS being locked so you can change anything like the hard drive setting to do stuff like dual boot or change partitions.
Is this true and if so does the Dell have a locked BIOS also?

Thanks.

Hi Lou,

I have a dv8100cto and the BIOS is not set in such a manner as would block the changing of setting of the hard disk. I had no trouble setting up a triple-boot (Win2000pe, WinXPpe & Ubuntu Feisty).
