A neighbor asked me to look at a very screwed up Compaq Presario V5000
series laptop of his. There were several things wrong and would need a
windows guru to sort out.
I said the best thing was to reinstall the OS, but he says there were no
DVD/CDs with it. But according to the manual there should be.
I'm not sure of the exact model, as I don't have it here now. It looks to
be a fairly basic model, with XP home on it.

I have a 2 year old Compaq 2232 laptop. It came with 3 cds, a windows xp
cd, an applications and drivers cd and a documentation cd. Your neighbor
probably misplaced them.
