Speed/power comparison between different processors?

It's a bit confusing - Pentium, Centrino, Celeron, Core Duo, Core 2 Duo, Centrino Duo, etc. etc., and I guess they all do the same job and the only difference is speed and power.

Has any one published a good assessment of those factors?
