There are no exact numbers ... the manufacturers don't even publish numbers for just their own sales, which makes compiling an exact total for all laptops (all mfgrs) impossible. There are market research firms that attempt to compile good estimates ... they charge for that information, and it's still only an estimate. The number is likely somewhere in the range of 30 to 50 million.
