You can't get Messanger working from a USB Stick, but have a look at
a.. Miranda IM Portable and
a.. Gaim Portable
in the internet section of portableapps.com (http://portableapps.com/) .
With these two Internet Messanger apps that can run off a USB Memory Stick
you can talk directly with other Messanger users.
Hope this helps

Hi to group,
My son has my old laptop and only uses it for Messenger. HD recently
failed but I had an old smaller capacity one lying around and swapped
this and reinstalled Windows. Laptop working fine - but Messenger
won't run - says insufficient memory. Have tried older versions of
Messenger but have problems with these too. Question is - Can I put
Messenger on say a USB stick as a virtual drive to get around this
proble m?. Laptop too old and unstable to waste cash buying a new
hard drive. Any advice as to set up/what we have to do to get it to
work with a memory stick would be gratefully appreciated.
Many thanks
Tony
