Hi,
I have win95 on a cdrom but the laptop I want to install it on T2100
only has a floppy drive. If I can move the win95 set up files to the
laptop hard disk can I install it from there? Which of the large number
of file son a win95 cdrom do I need?
I do have a sparq 1Gb drive that can be connected by parallel cable. I
think I can move the contents of the cdrom via that to the laptop.

More info after a google search.

Your Toshiba T2100 laptop could be as small as 486/8M of ram/and
a 120M hard drive. Most recommend that you stick with the "1A"
version of Windows 95. It was the first one that was released. Other
versions came out (OS2 that had FAT32 included, OS2.1 that had
usb technology added and there was a OS2.5, very rare) If
your laptop is the one that came with a 120M hd then you would want
to upgrade the bios to a newer version. Then you could swap out a
bigger hd (I would shoot for a 2.1G) Windows 95 did come out in an
all floppy version, about 25 floppies. The OS2 and later versions of
WIN95 will work on this laptop but they are bigger and slower. I
wouldn't fool with the Sparq drive since the earlier version of W95
didn't support usb. The "easiest" way to get W95 in this machine is
to get a 2.1G hard drive that is compatible with the laptop, then
connect it to a more modern computer with a cdrom drive, partition
and format it (I would do a C: drive 1600M and the D: drive would
take the rest of the drive), then copy the WIN95 directory to the
D: drive and turn off the computer, then install the hd in the laptop and
install from there. If there are any special drivers you might need,
copy them to say the D:\drivers directory before you connect it to
the laptop.

charles.....
