Hello,
I have recently gotten my hands on a dell laptop, with the power supply
broken. According to the sticker it outputs at 60W, 19v, 3.16A power
supply/ac/adapter.
I have another power supply which fits perfectly into the computer.
However, this power supply/ac adapter is rated to output at 75w, 19v,
3.94A.
If i use this power supply do i risk blowing my motherboard? can i use
an inline fuse to protect against this?
Thank You
The power supply looks fine as a replacement for the broken one. The power supply is capable of a little more load than the broken one, but your PC draws power, the supply doesn't force power to the PC. BUT make sure the polarity is the same as the broken one.
Good luck, jimbo
