Hi there, yes the drive is a PCG-CD51, it initially boots from
the windows 98 cd but then gets jammed 'looking' for the cd drive, even
though it is already booted off of it!. I have searched the internet
high and low for some sort of boot disk with these drivers but so far
no luck. Do you have any advice on how i can get an OS on this machine?
The problem is that the system sees the drive, but Windows 98
doesn't. Option One: You need a Windows boot floppy configured for a
CD-equipped system (I thought W98 CDs gave you the option during
boot-up, but it's been a while and I might be mistaken). Option Two:
When W98 stalls out looking for a CD-ROM drive, work from the DOS
prompt and copy the install files to your hard drive and install
Windows from there.

I think option 2 sounds like the best bet. what commands would
i use to copy all the files from the CD ROM onto the HD using the DOS
prompt?.
Many Thanks
