Hi Barry,
Thanks a lot for your response. Dim here means that its hardly visible
and i can't think of working on it. I see things when i stress my eyes
on it. Will I need to send it to repair. I bought it in France and now
I am in India and its really difficult to find a service center for
them here. Any suggestions to make it work with external monitor.
Thanks again
Sal

From your description, either the backlight lamp or the backlight
inverter is probably failing. You could also possibly have a software
setting causing this (unlikely, but not impossible) or a bad lid-closed
sensor. It's hard to say without seeing it ("dim" means different
things to different people, all the way from "completely out" to
"normal"). The battery problem is almost certainly unrelated.

Hi,
Display on my Fujitsu Siemens Amilo series suddenly went dim. Things
are barely visible. When i connect to other monitor it works till
windiws XP loads after it doesn't show anything on external monitor. My
battery is not also working for some time can that be a reason for
sudden failure?
Thanks for help in advance
Salil
