Sony Vio Laptop OK TO Leave on?

Good Afternoon, Im Thinking about getting a new Sony Vio Laptop,
Question is it ok to leave laptops on all the time like most people do
with desktop PC"s? Should I not leave the battery in when its fully
charged for a long time?
