Laptop setup problems

Hi,

Firstly apologies if I am in the wrong place but this is my first time
trying to use internet groups. All advice on where to go greatfully
accepted!

I have recently purchased a laptop without operating system or software
and on turning it on I am faced with a black screen counting up the KB
OK. The Screen then displays the message "Non system disk or disk error
replae and strike any key when ready". I cannot get past this screen to
install an operating system. What am I doing wrong or is there a
problem with my hardware?

Kind Regards

Graeme
