Generic SoftK56 Modem can't get dial tone
Our laptop uses one of those "Generic SoftK56" modems and it seems to
have
fried something in it after using it at a friend's house using THEIR
phone line...
...a 'high-voltage' phone line it appears!
....fortunately, we have a back-up 56k modem PC Card
Q:
How can you tell the cause thru 'diagnostics' or a 'log' that
something is not working right
with NOT getting the phone line to work on this modem?
Any tips would be appreciated.
Thx!
