Well, there are some. Take a look at any Toshiba Satellite 1700 series machine (1730, 1735, 1750, 1755, etc.). Changing the hard drive requires total disassembly down to the motherboard, you even have to separate the LCD lid from the base. It's a true bitch.

All laptops use standard, regular old 2.5" notebook hard drives
available from anywhere. There is no reason you need to buy a
"special" drive from CMS (who make good stuff but are way overpriced
and take advantage of your ignorance). There is nothing special about
the hard drives at all. Most notebooks have compartments on the bottom
or side to access and remove the hard drive. If you are certain there
is no compartment on the front, side or bottom, then you'll likely have
to remove the keyboard to get to the hard drive underneath. This is a
pretty simply operation but can be daunting to someone who's never done
it before.
