I have a HP Pavillion 4398 notebook, and its fan keeps working all the
time when i use it connected to an AC source.
When i use my computer with battery power, the laptop is perfectly
quite and fans are functioning properly, but whenever i switch to AC
source, fans start working and never stop. I understand that the
computer is not making any energy concumption when working plugged in
but the fan noise is something i dont like, and that is why i want my
computer to work all the time quietly as if it is working with the
battery all time.
Is there any way that i can fix this problem and make my fans work
less? I loaded a profram called notebook hardware controller but it
didnt help me.

Now the person they had fix their computer orignally ... the retard didnt put any fans in the computer so the only fans where ... When I build/modify systems I put a fan blowing in at the bottom front and one blowing out at the top rear, above the power supply if possible or as close to the CPU as possible or there isn't any room above the power supply. ... Re: Driver responsible for CPU fan control? ... that the fans worked normally for about 1 year now. ... So I absolutely believe that something loaded by Windows modifies the fan ... Contact Toshiba tech support....BIOS upgrade or a patch for their power management software would solve the ... (microsoft.public.windows.vista.general)
