I used reply for this, not my usual "reply all", but you are just full of it. Normally when I reply (or "reply all") I don't even look at who the individual is I'm replying to, because I'm replying to a question, not an individual. I treat you no differently than anyone else. Also, almost everyone has a "dummy" E-Mail address anyway (me included) to prevent automatic harvesting of our E-Mail addresses by spam robots. Mine is very obvious, however, and once you take out the "nospam" it's my real E-Mail address, and my real name. I don't have anything to hide here, just [free] help for people who want it and appreciate it.

Although I think Barry might consider altering his SOP, which would be considerate, he is a major contributor here as you know. My suggestion to you, if I may, is: create a filter in your email box.
BARRY!!!
SORRY TO HAVE TO SHOUT, BUT QUIT SENDING ME EMAILS!!

You may suggest. I will decline.
You're right. People like him are one of the reasons why usenet is so contentious.
Rather than creating a personal filter for one recalcitrant a**hole; I will simply unsubscribe.
I don't post here that much anyway. I'm sure I will not miss (or be missed in) this. If he is such a valuable contributer that you don't mind his behaviour, then you are welcome to him. Barry can run his own private fiefdom.
FWIW, I've noticed that he only posts to my mailbox when he disagrees with my opinion or advice. It's not like he is unaware of the unwelcome nature of his intrusion, or unable to understand the technical process of replying to the group only. This not the 'automatic' response he claims, but harrassment.
There are other--better--sources of information. I've not found his to be indispensable in any case.
C'ya!
