I understand that 7200 rpm drives are sgnificantly faster. True?
One of the concerns I have is heat production. Would a laptop
with 7200 be expected to heat up noticably more than same
with 5400 dirve?
Not likely. Remember, 7200 RPM drives are offered as an option on
most laptops and the upgrade does not involve any other changes to
the innards of the machine.
I upgraded the 4200 RPM drive in my R51 Thinkpad with a 7200 RPM
drive and don't notice any problem.
