The error message is quite long.... Basically the message is:
Windows shut down to prevent damage to your computer
Driver_IRQL_Not_Less_Or_Equal
Disable BIOS Memory options such as caching or shadowing for use in
safe mode press F8
Technical Info:
stop 0x000000D1 (0x0000000C, 0x00000002, 0x00000000, 0xAA6A6F21)
portcyls.sys -Address AA6A6F21 base at AA6A6000
Beginning dump of physical memory... Physical memory dump
complete...
This is most of the technical info that I recorded with pen and paper.
I'm not in the IT profession, so don't really know what all of this
means. Microsoft Online Crash Analysis reports the problem as a
conflict with a device driver.... I have troubleshooted this with
Dell and have had no luck. Peformed hardware diagnostic
troublshooting the video card and have removed Ram physically and
reinstalled.
Dell says it is more than likely a corrupted partition of Windows XP.
If I reinstall Windows, it should fix the problem. My problem is I'm
approaching my 21 days to return the laptop real soon. I can't
afford to reinstall the OS and then discover more problems after the
return period is up. Any advice would be appreciated!
