It could be the main fuse or it could be a fracture at the DC jack. The
main fuse is relatively easy to find since it is typically very near the
DC jack. If you post a picture of the board, readers can comment. The
blown fuse can be bypassed with a fast acting picofuse soldered across
the terminals. A cracked board will likely have to be replaced unless
you can identify where the flaws are and a method for restoring
connectivity. There is a poster on the unofficial Sony Vaio forum
(smbios, I think) that has a good reputation for Vaio board repairs.
