I think this might be a system error that is rebooting the laptop at
some point in the standby-to-hibernation sequence. Disable restart on
error in System Properties, Advanced tab, Startup and Recovery\Settings
button, System Failure - uncheck Automatically restart, check Write an
event to the system log.
In any case, check the Event Viewer logs for an error state during the
sequence.
