If you can't find a repair shop that's authorized to do repairs on the brand
you purchase, it would be pretty hard to get a laptop repaired by the next
business day wouldn't it? If you are buying the unit from a major retailer
like Comp USA, Best Buy, Staples or the like, you need to ask if they do the
repairs in-house or simply pass the machine on to an authorized factory
repair service.

I don't know of anyone who has a Fujitsu, outside of Japan, but I do know
people who have HP, Toshiba, Sony and Dell laptops and they are basically
all the same as far as product reliability. In fact, if you were to tear
these machines apart, you would find a great number of components in common.
This is similar to products like televisions, stereo amplifiers, vcr's and
dvd players. Every one of them will have some component from Masushita
Corporation.

I would not suggest a Gateway product.
