Re: Acer Aspire - Wireless Probs

Can you say a bit more about your opinion on the laptop and the manufacturer. I'm planning to buy an Acer soon and I would like to know if I'm making a mistake.

Thought the spec was excellent for the price so made a purchase. However, fan is very noisy and the bottom gets very hot (result of dedicated graphics I suspect!) Mobo packed in after 3 months, sent it back for repair and it was returned to me with a scratched case and a loose screw inside. As you'll have read, the wireless functionality seems a bit suspect too and it looks like I'll have to buy a PCMCIA adapter.

So, in summary, the machine would be great if it did all it should and I hadn't had dealings with the repair centre. I probably wouldn't buy one again.
