If this is a P4 variant, then it is normal for the fan to run
continuously. You might find some help in the power management,
particularly if it has a proprietary power manager with "quiet mode",
"cpu throttling", etc. Frankly, I think with a week or so of use you'll
not notice the noise so much. But, fan noise is the price for a P4
processor.
