Thanks a lot for the help you've given in this thread. I appreciate
it. From my point of view, the card in question remains a Belkin
F5D7010.

The CD you describe seem to be different than the one I have. On my
version there's a non-OS specific folder called 'files' which
includes: 'Rt2500.sys' and Rt25009x.sys.

Allowing the CD to auto-run it's "installation" process doesn't
provide a point where the user can specify a folder or file.

Inserting the card and rebooting without using the CD's auto-setup
causes the New hardware Wizard to look for a file associated with a
"PCI Network Controller". From what Mr Watzman has explained Windows
could be correctly identifying the hardware for it's own intents and
purposes but the process, wherever pointed to, is looking for an
*.inf file which neither it nor I can find on the CD or in the
downloaded and unpacked *.exe file.

In the unpacked *.exe file there is a WinME\setup.inx file which may
be a disabled *inf file but if I change the extension to *inf, it
still won't run a driver installation. The Hardware Wiz allows me an
OK button to click on but clicking on it produces yet another failure
to find the necessary files.

I think I've seen enough information to get the idea that the driver
files should be for a "ralink 2500". Now what I need to know is which
file(s) go to make up a driver and where should these files be put in
the WinME structure and maybe referred to in the registry, so as to
make the card work?

Perhaps there's a more appropriate forum to ask these questions about
driver details?

Thanks everyone for the advice you've given.
