no hard drive found IBM Thinkpad 701c

I Have A IBM Thinkpad 701c with windows 95 installed after updating my
flash player software for IE when I rebooted it no longer shows that I
have a hard drive.
What Software is best to recover my hard drive from this failure I
bought the laptop without any IBM recovery software.
I beleve it may have been infected by a virus off the windows update
sight.
My desktop was infected with my-doom after running update last week
for win 98
