Re: 8570vampire drinks your blood.......

I pulled my cat5 cable and booted Netscape 2.0

You can run Netscape 4.0 or 3.01 with Win32S, IIRC, IE 4.x can be also
installed.

I absolutely could not find how to disable Javascript.......could you
give me a hint as to where to look?

Netscape 3.01: Edit NETSCAPE.INI and set the following to "no"

[Java]
Enable JavaScript=yes

Netscape 4.0: You may try this setting in PREFS.JS if nothing else helps,
although I rather think it disables Java applets:

user_pref("security.enable_java", false);

For TCP/IP, I used to use Cisco's suite (TGV Multinet) which was on a Cisco
products CDROM.

....Cisco TCP/IP Suite 100 for Windows can be used on these platforms:

- Windows 3.x running on a workstation with a 386 or higher processor.
- Windows 95 on a workstation with a 486 or higher processor.
- Windows NT 4.0 running on a workstation with a 486 or higher
x86-architecture processor (Pentium or Pentium Pro).

New Features and Enhancements for Version 2.1

........
- Winsock 1.1 compatibility enhancements to improve inter-operability with
3rd party applications.

- PPP and SLIP improvements under Windows for Workgroups and Windows 95 to
increase robustness with a wider variety of terminal servers.

- Telnet includes rectangular cut and paste, session logging, and numerous
enhancements to the VT420, TN3270 and TN5250 emulators and keyboard
remapper.

- FTP Client includes the ability to copy entire directory trees.

- Improved NFS Client operation with 3rd party applications and added
support for Windows 95 briefcases and shortcuts.

- Added print job management for NFS, Stream, and LPR printing.

Cisco TCP/IP Suite 100 is a set of TCP/IP utilities and a TCP/IP stack.
These utilities allow you to connect to and communicate with other computers
on the Internet or your corporate intranet using standard TCP/IP protocols.
When you install the suite, you can select the utilities you need, although
some utilities require that you also install the Cisco TCP/IP stack.

Table 1-1 shows the utilities available with Cisco TCP/IP Suite 100, the
Windows platforms supported, and whether the utility also requires that you
install the Cisco TCP/IP stack. Because the Cisco TCP/IP stack is not
available for Windows NT 4.0, you cannot install any utilities that require
the stack on Windows NT.
