Michael thanks for reply.
Have you tried to start the system in Service Mode yet? If that doesn't
fix the problem it sounds like the internal disk may be bad.
As stated in my original post
" Did a diagnostics check of all 7012-320 and got
817-210 I/O Planar Time of Day POR. No fru's were given.
Did a diagnostics check on I/O Planar on 7012-320 and got
817-123 The I/O Planar time of day clock test failed. No fru's were given. "
These error codes seem to imply something wrong with the date. Noticed on
another boot up in service mode that the date was 1970.
After your comments did a hard disk check and both okay.
Fired up 7009-C10 which stalled on led 223That's a normal message during IPL stating that the system is trying to
perform an IPL from the SCSI devices in the boot list. Either you have a
problem with the boot device or your boot list.
Attatched the VPD cdrom to 7009-C10 and booted off diagnostic cd in service
mode and did a full diagnostic and got " no trouble found "
Rebooted in normal made and AIX 4.3.3 came up okay.
Did #diag, and tested all and got 817-123 The I/O Planar time of day clock
test failed so tested the ioplanar0 " no trouble found "
7009-C10 is on a 3151 terminal. Checked boot list and appears normal.
When 7009-C10 boots up in either service mode or normal mode all the way
through the 200 to 800 series led displays it gives perhaps 8 or 9 single
muted beeps at approx two or three second intervals.
After all the above on 7009-C10 turned it off and 15 minutes later did a
boot up in normal mode and it stuck again on led 223.
Both machines are a mystery.
Basil
