Hi!
I'd say you'll have to completely disassemble it - water has
probably leaked under the rubber membrane. Most keyboards
don't do well in the dishwasher - there are too many places
for water to penetrate and remain for a very long time.
I've usually thrown complete keyboards into the dishwasher with
impunity and they've come out fine after riding around on the
dashboard of my truck with exposure to the sun for a few days. Even
the notoriously fidgety Apple keyboards came through this treatment
without issue.
(I'm sure that a lot of people wondered what I was doing when I threw
20+ recently dishwashed computer mice up there to dry.)
This keyboard was so incredibly gross...I don't know what happened to
it. It was so bad that I didn't think anything short of chucking it
into the dishwasher would do the trick.
The good news is that it seems to be getting better. Plugging it in no
longer makes the computer beep crazily, and some of the keys are
starting to come around. It may yet pull out of it.
One of my younger brothers fed a live M a full glass of water. It
acted looney for a while and then straightened up nicely.
