I downloaded "area 51" from a newsgroup and tried to burn it
to dvd. It didn't work.

As a matter of fact, it did indeed work.
You have to realize what the actual "area 51" program actually does. This
particular stealth program is designed to download an executable file on
your home computer that will create certain key components in your Microsoft
Windows XX registry.
You will soon begin to notice your computer beginning to become more and
more sluggish as the days progress. ( unless you don't do a reboot. The
program requires a reboot to become active. ) This is because your computer
is trying to access the home page of Xandor, the man who keeps the secrets
of "area 51"

At this time, there is no known removal hot fix for this particularly nasty
little program. The only real solution is to format your hard drive, and
re-install your OS. However, sometimes the MBR is so convoluted, you may
need a program like DrivePro to wipe the first 10 cylinders of your hard
drive, and write zeros to it at least 27 times. Certain government
encryption programs require this level of security for complete removal.

I have seen hard drives completely destroyed by this program after being
allowed to run this program for a week.

Good luck, and whatever you do, quickly dis-connect your wireless network if
you are using one. I have seen whole neighborhoods infected with this, and
LCD screens for blocks around ruined with the image of Xandor permantly
etched onto the screen !

Are there special steps i need to
take to get these dvd's to work on my PS2?

Yes. When you get your computer working again, download the steps to the
Hokey-Pokey, and follow the procedures carefully. Make sure you know your
left from your right, very important.

Happy Holidaze !
