Hi!
Have you still got that Model 80 and DOS 3.30 that we'd talked about
some time ago?
I packed the DOS in with the 80. When I calculate the shipping on the
80 we put it the whole thing on hold, I'll at least fish it out and
send it. The 80 is there too, in a huge box-in-box.
I find that surprising. My little brothers share an iPod mini (one of
the 4GB silver ones). Now, one has to understand that they are
sometimes hard on things. They have burned through a number of various
flash-based music players from Motorola and Sandisk. Somehow it
happened that they got ahold of this iPod, which is hard drive based.
It's taken a number of very hard knocks. The casing is quite bruised.
Still, the music keeps on playing. I think that's nothing short of
amazing, especially considering the hard disk inside it.
Dunno. 60gig Video jobby. First one went to sleep on the dock/charger
and never woke up. Was 5 months old, sent it off and got #2. Two ran
for almost a year (10 months) and the select button went wankers.
Every push would make the backlight blink off. Sometimes had to push
it multiple times, Off it went. #3 now rides to work with me.
It always travels in a leather case. Plays in the truck in a cup
holder for 2 hours a day. Plays in the office in one of those Logitech
stand/speaker docks for maybe 12 hours a week.
The iMac with the bad OS install - After solving the tweaked case
issue with the power switch and DVD slot, I had it running on an
external monitor (that model had a real VGA port in it;s ***) and
left it on all night. The next time I saw it, it had downloaded
updates all on it's own and wanted me to let it reboot. When it
rebooted, the main screen came on. Didn't know what I had done until
reading about it later.
Need a new apple mouse? I really hate the hockey puck mouse, it's
better to just get any USB mouse (Logitech G5 - my fave) and use it.
Otherwise - I still have a blue puck for the taking.
Forgot to mention - I also built a PC in a G3 Blue & White case. Came
out a real sleeper. Traded it for a laptop.
Most of these Mac and other computer follies are all documented on the
www.barovelli.com website
.
